What is the purpose of your music?
To help people get through their mental battles through my music and performances.
What is unique about your music? What makes your artistry different than your competitors?
What makes me unique is that no one else is I’m Dru! Unlike most rappers, I’m here to spread a message that the masses can relate to. No matter what you’re going through, I want to be the friend that’s by your side through my music. I also am a music producer and musical innovator. I play 2 instruments, sing and rap. That definitely sets me apart. Also, my live shows are unlike any artists in my space, complete with crazy lights and a live band!
How long have you been doing this?
I have been rapping and singing for almost 2 years, however I have been producing for 4!
Who has been the biggest influence in your life? Why?
I’d say life wise, my biggest influence is what I learn from my own lessons. The things I go through are what help mold me to become who I really am. You can definitely hear that through my music. Music wise, my biggest inspirations are Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Kanye, Drake, Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury and Charlie Puth. Those dudes just have it. That’s something that I work towards everyday. They inspire me as musicians and people and push me to work harder everyday. Also music is kind of in my DNA. My grandmas cousins name was Bill Spitalsky. He founded Spring Records which is disbanded now, but was a prominent funk label in the 70s. They definitely pushed me to follow in his footsteps as not only a musician, but a businessman.
Do you want to promote anything in specific? If so, please elaborate?
Recently, on January 21st, 2022, I dropped my new song “LUPITA”. This is a latin dance pop/ rap crossover track that will make you move! It’s in collaboration with Latin super producer Sak Noel. He has worked with big names such as Pitbull, Sean Paul, Daddy Yankee, and Maroon 5. The song is about chasing after someone you really want knowing they are bad for you. The song is uptempo, catchy, and filled with memorable lyrics. There is a music video coming out very soon to be on the lookout for. It depicts the lyrics in a real live action story and shows fans the vulnerable side of Dru.
What are some of your some of your awards, accomplishments, and what is there to come?
Over 1,000,000 streams on all platforms, videos of my music with hundreds of thousands of views on youtube, music video with over 100,000 views, sold out show, countless giveaways, song coming out with KillBunk, tons of more collabs on the way, and the “LUPITA” video dropping soon!
Your plans for the future?
Continuing to consistently release music, music videos, performing shows, collaborating with artists and brands, and taking the world by storm.
