1- Great to have you on our blog. Please, introduce yourself?
I am King $corp and I am a music artist from Richmond, VA.

2- What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?
What got me into music was my passion for it. I grew up watching movies like High School Musical, The Cheetah Girls, Dream Girls, Camp Rock and I loved every song and every performance. Those movies really inspired me to take chorus classes starting in middle school and throughout high school.

3- Tell us about your new Single. And what’s the story behind it?
My new single SERVE is a song for any artist or model who has been underestimated from leaders in the industry. A lot of times you’ll find that the leaders in the industry prey on new upcoming talent to extort them without any type of compensation for the use of their looks and talents. Those types of leaders believe that exposure is this grand type of compensation and they will sell the dream that you have to start somewhere and how new opportunities will arise from working with them for free. This very well may be true, but your price and your value will stay the same if you believe them. No one wants to work for free. It’s giving slave labor.

4- What makes your music unique? How would you describe it?
What makes my music unique is the fact that my lyrics are designed to uplift people around the world to believe in themselves. With every word you sing, you set the intentions. My intention is to build and grow. I want my fans to grow with me. There is no competition.

5- What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
The advice I would give aspiring artist is to give yourself time and the permission to live your life. As an artist, our art is inspired by our lived experiences. Some artist may find themselves going through a hard time and may not know how to deal with it. My best advice would be to put your experiences on a track and shed light on it because at that point, you’ve released it, you can know learn to heal and now you’ve also helped someone else who needed to hear your message.

6- Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?
My biggest musical influences are Kehlani, Saweetie, Jay-Z, Chloe Bailey, Cardi B, Chance The Rapper, Demi Lovato, Lil Nas X. I would love to collaborate with all of those artist at some point in my music career.

7- If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
If I had one message to give to my fans, I would say remembering who you are is to remember what is best for you. Learning to compartmentalize what serves you and what doesn’t serve you is some key guidance to living your best life. What is for you will always be for you. The fun in that is you decide what that is.

8- What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
My new album titled “Tyrell” will be released in 2022. I am so excited to share with you all what my journey has been like thus far growing up a black queer man in the south unapologetically.
