Discover our interview with ALP YILDIZ and listen to ‘’Lullaby Of Takeda’’

1- Great to have you on our blog. Please, introduce yourself?
Hi, my name is ALP YILDIZ. I’m a hip-hop producer from Istanbul, Turkey who just released his first song on spotify. I've been producing for a while now and I produce mainly BoomBap style because that’s the way I feel most comfortable introducing myself.

2- What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?
When I was like 4 or 5 years old my brother introduced me to Hip-Hop music. He was a big Hip-Hop fan then. I remember he showed me the songs of an old Turkish Hip-Hop duo named ‘’Nefret’’ and from that time I always wanted to be a rapper and actually I recorded some verses after I heard this music but they were so bad. But from that time I knew I would take part in the art of Hip-Hop in some ways.

3- Tell us about your new Single. And what’s the story behind it?
My new single is called ‘’Lullaby Of Takeda’’. It is an instrumental song. I actually produced this song months ago but this song always had a special place among my other beats. But this song needed a revision because I learn a lot about music production since first producing this song. So I changed the drums and spent a great amount of time doing the mix and mastering again. After doing these I was confident enough to release it on major streaming platforms so did it without wasting any more time.

4- What makes your music unique? How would you describe it?
Of course, sound selection and production style can make your music unique but in my opinion my passion in music is what makes my music distinguish from others.

5- What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
Just do your art the way you want. Stop listening to what other people think about your art or your decisions and take action for yourself because there will always be someone that will judge.

6- Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?
The reason I started producing music is Kanye West. His mindset taught so many things not just about music but also about life. He made me believe in myself. So I can say Kanye West is my biggest influence. I can also see MF DOOM, J Dilla and Nujabes’ influences in my music. I really want to collab with Japanese Hip-Hop artist Shing02 and actually we had a little conversation recently on social media.

7- If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
Do what makes you happy. Life is not that complicated, it’s just a small phase so live this small phase the way you want to not the way others tell you to. At the end of the day, you will be the one who lived this life, not them. Life is so short for that.

8- What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
I constantly make new music so there will be new stuff coming out. Some more instrumental stuff will come out and also there will be some collaborations with rappers.
