1- Great to have you on our blog. Please, introduce yourself?
My name is Richard Earl Laster Jr but I'm better known as Dat Boi Ricci

2- What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?
My dad (obviously Richard Sr lol) played guitar for the temptations and James Brown and my auntie the late great Betty Wright helped shape my musical hunger into what it is today.

3- Tell us about your new Single. And what’s the story behind it?
My new single is named after the artist that made music that was raw and gritty and real life things that happened, Blondie. I spelled it Blxndie because United Masters wouldn't let me spell the name because it contained a main stream artist name in it. The story behind this song is you hear all the time about women who have dudes that won't let go of them and don't want them with another man and have this crazy notion of if I can't have you no one will. I did this to broaden my storytelling in music.

4- What makes your music unique? How would you describe it?
My music is unique because I'm not afraid to step out of the box, I'll go to the extremes that other artists would say nawll that ain't my style, I'm gone take it there and entertain you at the same time. I don't like my music but my kids and their friends love it and I have alot of females that love my music which I don't understand cause it's crazy music to me but they take it and run with it. Who am I to tell people what to like and not to like lol. So I would say my music is Feel Good Music, also my wife loves my music and for some reason she has every album.

5- What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
Don't let anyone put you in a box with your talent, God gave it to you so only he can pull it back from you. Your the master and owner of your music, not a label nor a manager, or anybody but you and God. Also take criticism as a helping tool not a downer or heartbreak situation, cause it only makes you better.

6- Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?
I love old school down south music like OutKast, UGK, 8ball and MJG, just to name a few in the rap genre. To get my inspiration to write my music I listen to rock music. I would love to collab with Marshmello, Calvin Harris, OutKast, Bun B, Cardi B, Drake, just to name a few.

7- If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
I would tell them the same thing as I tell my wife, I thank you for putting up with my crap for so long and without you how do I even exist in this world.

8- What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
This is my last album which would be my 13th album and it's called Champagne Bottle Life which will consist of 15 songs. This album is gonna drop 02/14/2022 and then I'm making movies. Shot out to my DJS KA'RISMA AND X-ALENT. My baby son is next up with this music.
