Discover our exclusive interview with Kenny Buttons and listen to 'No Longer Welcome'

1- Great to have you on our platform. Please, introduce yourself?
My name is Kenny Buttons. I am a singer, songwriter, producer, artist from the Bronx NY.

2- What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?
It was a 4th-grade play that I was in. The exciting feeling I got from being on stage, hearing the crowds reaction to our performance, and how that feeling ran through me, how alive I felt, I didn’t want it to end! I knew at a very young age that Performing Is what I wanted to do.

3- Tell us about your new single. And what’s the story behind it?
All of my music comes from a personal place or experience, and this record is no different.
This record is about living in a toxic and dysfunctional relationship.
Trying to make love work while always being on mental and emotional rollercoaster. You eventually become exhausted. Nothing you do or say is ever good enough.
Through it all, you lose yourself and everything that matters or makes you happy.
Until You wake up and realize that Changes is absolutely necessary.

4- What makes your music unique? How would you describe it?
I would describe my music as universal. Vocally I truly live in each genre comfortably. Doesn’t matter if it’s Hip Hop, Pop, R&B, Rock or opera vocal. I can do it and do it well. To make it that much sweeter, I’m producing, arranging, writing and performing it all. Not many out here that say they can do it, and do it well. I truly live in my own lane.

5- What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
This business is a marathon, not a sprint.
Another words, don’t expect things to happen over night. It’s going to take hard work, and dedication. You will definitely have disappointments along the way. But if you stay focused, you will get where you want to be.

6- Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?
Coming up I listen to a lot of music, but one of my all time favs was, and still is U2. The emotion in their music, vocals & melodies always drew me in. Whether it was uptempo or a ballad, it was always AWEOME!!
And I always loved the “Edges” guitar solos.
Gosh!! That’s a hard one. There’s so much talent out here. But if I had one, I would say Coldplay. They are another band who’s music just fills me, takes me to this other place emotionally.

7- If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
Always go for what you love, feel, and envision. Never let anyone tell you can’t do it, always believing in yourself is the most important.
Your always going to have critics along the way. Just remember that this is your journey and no one else’s.
I also want to thank all of my fans for always taking the time to listen to what I’m up to creatively. I’m truly grateful and I don’t take it for granted. Bless you all

8- What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
The focus for now is to stay consistent,
Putting out great music one single at a time.
